Education Requirements:

Technical Bachelor’s degree and experience directly related to cost, schedule, and contract administration. Certification as CM or PMI, Registration as Architect, Engineer, and/or GC license preferred.
Facilities Project Engineer
Technical Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering and experience directly related to design, construction, and facilities planning. Registration as Architect or Engineer is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

Requires 6 years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency levels related to construction management. Education may be substituted with 10 years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency levels related to task.
Facilities Project Engineer
Requires 6 years experience in architectural and engineering design, construction documentation and specification, and knowledge of national and local building codes and regulations.


Responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the administration of project contract(s). Provides assistance in monitoring and management of the contract and office engineering duties, including all contract communications with contractors and coordination of all the contracting activities of other disciplines.

Develops PCO/CO packages with necessary back up. Assists with schedule preparation & review. Background research for Requests for Information (RFIs). Coordinates final inspection. Coordinates the development and resolution of punch lists. Coordinates the shop drawing/submittal review and approval process. Assist with determining the validity of contractor’s requests for change orders. Develops and maintains project progress photographs and required photographs/videos for dispute/claim documentation. Gathering the necessary documentation for all dispute issues and maintaining up-to-date dispute files. Logs & tracks all PCOs/COs, RFIs, Logs all contractor correspondence and submittals. Maintains daily reports. Participates in project start-up and job-site meetings with contractors and develops meeting minutes. Prepares and publishes monthly reports.

Process contractor’s payment and forwards to owner. Assist the project manager to provide all services such that the objectives for quality of service, project schedule, cost and project quality are met or exceeded. Receives and distributes all necessary Lien Releases and Notice of Completion.

The Facilities Project Engineer is responsible for providing facilities and space planning technical support for facilities infrastructure projects including real estate, design and construction, maintenance, operating systems and equipment. Develops facilities layouts, space plans and specifications for major facility improvements, alterations, and relocation projects. Provides programming of facilities assets, develops architectural and MEP construction documents, IT and cable plant specifications, relocation plans, and facilities utilization plans for various capital project activities. Provides engineering and/or technical expertise to support site selection, design, construction, move-in through completion; assists Facilities Project Manager to coordinate and implement facilities management program requirements with maintenance, janitorial, office services, real estate, design and construction, information technology and telecommunication services, and other service providers.
